The famous Boston bakery has opened the doors to its first DC location in the West End.
Hearty shakshuka, flavorful halloumi sandwiches and other delightful Israeli-inspired goodies, that’s what Tatte Bakery, the latest addition to the DC bakery scene, brings to the table. The Israeli-inspired bakery has become a total hit in its native town of Boston and has now finally landed in the Nation’s Capital.
Tatte is opening its new location in the West End at 1200 New Hampshire Avenue NW, on Wednesday, August 26, and will be serving its amazing baked goods and other dishes for pick up, delivery or to be enjoyed at their lovely outdoor patio.
Tatte’s menu is full of delicious Mediterranean-inspired options including three different kinds of shakshuka, halloumi sandwiches and fattoush salad as well as brunch exclusive options like Greek-style pancakes with greek yogurt and house-made pear jam. All created by self-trained pastry chef and former film producer, Tzurit Or. The bakery also has a wide range of pastries and bread loaves as well as a has a gluten-friendly menu filled with yummy options including halva bombs and pecan tarts. If you’re a baked-goods fan, Tatte has endless delicious options for you to choose from–Take it from someone who spent most (if not all) of her formative college years sampling every Tatte Boston location.
It also doesn’t hurt that every Tatte location is insanely gorgeous, complete with pristine white wall tiles and industrial-like counters. The bakery is perfect for weekend brunch with friends and, you know, a little photoshoot to elevate your Instagram game.
Originally set to open earlier in March, Tatte Bakery had to postpone its DC opening due to coronavirus. Now that it’s finally open, the bakery is set to take the District by storm and will open two more locations in Dupont Circle (set to open in October) and Bethesda later this year. So, is anyone down for a Tatte tour around DC?
