Your adorable neighborhood Girl Scouts have figured out a way to deliver cookies to your front door amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The green vested organization announced that people at home will now have the pleasure of treating themselves to a special quarantine snack! Though half of the fun comes from seeing the eyes of Girl Scouts light up when they make a sale, all the Thin Mints, Somas, and Do-Si-Dos your stomach desires are currently available for purchase online.
“For 108 years, Girl Scouts has been there in times of crisis and turmoil,” said Sylvia Acevedo, Girl Scouts of the USA CEO, in a press release. “And today we are stepping forward with new initiatives to help girls, their families, and consumers connect, explore, find comfort, and take action.”
Not only will cookie fanatics get the chance to happily snack on these seasonal treats once more, they’ll also have the option to donate a box or two to first responders, volunteers, and local causes in need. (Are you tearing up too? *Sniffle*) The website says that they’ll safely distribute cookies during these challenging times in an effort to provide comfort to those who need it most.
The Girl Scouts organization suspended door-to-door sales and cookie booths to protect their troops as well as the communities they serve in the wake of COVID-19.
