Say good riddance and goodbye to early sunsets!
As we head further into spring toward summer, the early nightfall has gotten depressing. Thankfully, the District can rejoice as its beautiful sunsets begin to occur later and later!
According to Date & Time, Monday, May 1st will be the first 8 p.m. sunset of the year in Washington, D.C. Meaning that from May 1st onward, sunset will be after 8 p.m.
Since Daylight Saving Time began on Sunday, March 12, 2023, it’s brought D.C. more light and longer days, making the one-hour loss of sleep worth it.
The sun won’t set before 8:00 p.m. again until Aug. 18, 2023.
Until then, we can appreciate the longer periods of sun in our days!
