After a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the European Union’s Open House will return this Saturday, May 14.
Participating embassies across D.C. — including, but not limited to Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Slovakia — will allow visitors to explore the embassy grounds and participate in a number of cultural activities.
Some highlights on the agenda include the Embassy of Belgium’s waffles and comic book tour; the Embassy of Latvia’s folk dancers; the Embassy of Italy’s pizza, ice cream, and espresso tastings; and the Embassy of Greece’s sculpture exhibit, among others!
Additional non-EU embassies will also open their doors for the final weekend of the Around the World Embassy Tour. These embassies — including Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Iraq, Nepal, and Thailand, among others — will also offer a number of cultural activities, such as karate and dance demonstrations, and showcase each country’s art.
