The holiday season kicked off on Saturday with this stunning light display on the water!
The Wharf hosted its 30th annual District Holiday Boat Parade on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The free event featured more than 60 boats decked from bow to stern with holiday lights and festive decor as they set sail down the Washington Channel.
This year, Tommy McFLY from NBC4 acted as the emcee, announcing the boats as they began to hit the channel at 7 p.m.
But the bedecked boats were just the tip of The Wharf’s festivities! Spectators also indulged in s’mores and apple cider from the Camp Wharf Airstream trailer, had their pictures taken with Santa Claus, decorated ornaments, watched a live performance by the Royals, indulged in a cocktail or two (if they were 21 or older!), and even went skating at the seasonal ice rink!
With activities and sights fun for all ages, the District Holiday Boat Parade is a always a can’t-miss experience! Here’s to looking forward to next year’s already!
