If you’re looking to give an adorable pet a fur-ever home, look no further! The D.C. Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) is offering discounted adoption rates through the weekend.
The shelters are over capacity following an influx of surrendered and rescued pets and a decline in adoption rates over the last year. Combined with what the HRA website has referred to as “the busy spring months,” the nonprofit is doing what it can to help these furry friends find loving homes.
So through Sunday, April 16, the HRA is offering a 50% discount on pet adoptions at its two D.C. locations. To further aid people who’d love to offer a pet a good home but may struggle to afford the expenses that come with a pet, the HRA also offers vaccine clinics offering dogs low-cost vaccinations and a pet pantry that disperses free pet food.
Adoptees must be 18 years or older.
The HRA offers walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at its two D.C. locations:
