June is in full swing and it’s brought gorgeous weather and an abundance of things to do with it. To help sort through your options, Secret D.C. has compiled a fun-filled weekend roundup of all the activities and events you don’t want to miss!
1. Go to Jazz in the Garden
D.C.’s favorite concert series Jazz in the Garden has returned! Every Friday night from through July 22, the National Gallery of Art hosts an outdoor concert in its Sculpture Garden. Featuring a range of jazz, bluegrass, and Afro-Cuban music, attendees can enjoy the weather, tunes, and gorgeous views. You can register to attend at noon exactly one week prior to each concert.
2. Celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with Capital Pride
June’s Pride Month is recognized across the world as a time to celebrate and recognize the LGBTQ+ community — and that’s no different in D.C. In fact, D.C. has been named home of one of the top five pride celebrations in the United States. This weekend, D.C. will have its Capital Pride Parade and concert, along with a number of other events and activities. See a breakdown of all the happenings in our Ultimate D.C. Pride Month Roundup.
3. Protest gun violence at March For Our Lives
The March For Our Lives rally, which began in 2018 following the Parkland mass school shooting, is returning to D.C. On Saturday, people will be protesting gun violence — amid another recent surge in mass shootings in the United States — with a march beginning at the Washington Monument from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

6. Make your own bouquet at Lily’s Flower Truck
Lily’s Flower Truck, launched in June 2020, now has two trucks and travels throughout the DMV, offering patrons a chance to build their own bouquet, order a featured bouquet or “designer’s choice,” or participate in one of its flower workshops, using its variety of seasonal and staple flowers! This weekend, it will be parked in CityCenter D.C. from D.C.: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
7. Check out the debut of the new exhibit, “Grace of Monaco: Princess in Dior”
The Hillwood Museum is opening a new exhibit on Saturday, “Grace of Monaco: Princess in Dior.” The exhibit, which will run until Jan. 8, 2023, examines “the longstanding collaboration between Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, and Marc Bohan, artistic director at Christian Dior.” The exhibit, featuring a collection of clothing, photos, among other items, is on loan to the museum from the Palace of Monaco.
8. Enjoy a drink and warm weather at one of these rooftop bars
Warm weather and drinks while taking in a view of D.C. is virtually unbeatable! The District has a number of rooftop bars with gorgeous city views — including the newly opened Takoda Navy Yard — just waiting for you!
9. Go roller-skating at The Wharf
The Wharf will be hosting a popup roller rink this summer! The free rink, which will be open the second weekend of each summer month beginning June 11, is all ages and features fantastic music and live performances by professional skaters. No skates? No problem! You can rent a pair on-site for $10. This weekend, the rink will be open Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 7 p.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday, June 12 from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
10. Take a tiki cruise on the Potomac
Groups of 8-18 can set sail on the Potomac for a 90-minute cruise, taking in the sights and having a drink. The tiki cruise offers an assortment of alcoholic beverages for purchase on board, and you can bring your own bottle of wine or champagne for an $8 uncorking fee. Light snacks are also available for purchase, but the cruise is BYOF (bring your own food). You can schedule a slot for an upcoming weekend, here!
