3. Experience the sensation that is Jazz in the Garden
D.C.’s favorite concert series Jazz in the Garden has returned! Every Friday night from through July 22, the National Gallery of Art hosts an outdoor concert in its Sculpture Garden. Featuring a range of jazz, bluegrass, and Afro-Cuban music, attendees can enjoy the weather, tunes, and gorgeous views. You can register to attend at noon exactly one week prior to each concert.
4. Celebrate the inaugural D.C. Plant Week
Little Leaf kicked off its inaugural D.C. Plant Week July 6, running until July 10, “a collaborative celebration among local plant shops to encourage residents to shop small and green up their spaces this summer.” Through a partnership with more than 15 local plant shops — and even local cocktail bars! — D.C. 5. Embrace your inner bookworm at this used book sale
Carpe Librum (“seize the book”) — the used bookstore that benefits the nonprofit Turning the Page — will be having a popup in Navy Yard’s Canal Park on Saturday, July 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Peruse through a selection of used books, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records, with all purchases going toward the nonprofit to help provide communities with “valuable educational resources and a high-quality public education.”
6. Par-take in a fun-filled round of mini golf
Fun for all ages, mini golf is always a hole-in-one! Luckily, the D.C.-area has a variety of options, from the beloved chain Swingers to Tyson Corner’s Perch Putt, and from the classic East Potomac Mini Golf to the newly-opened Puttery, grab a drink and putt away!
