The 18th annual D.C. JazzFest kicked off on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at The Howard Theatre and officially returns to The Wharf Saturday, Sept. 3 through Sunday, Sept. 4, with various shows throughout D.C. on Thursday and Friday.
Founded in 2004 by jazz producer Charles Fishman and his wife, Stephanie Peters, D.C. JazzFest, with the aim of teaching the history of jazz roots—including those in D.C.— and aiming to inspire a new generation of jazz musicians and enthusiasts.
This year’s festival will feature renowned artists such as Christian McBride & Inside Straight, Dianne Reeves, and many more!
“When crafting this year’s lineup, we answered the call of artistic diversity that has become a DC JazzFest hallmark,” DCJF Artistic Director Willard Jenkins said in a press release. “This year’s Festival experiences will include in-person and livestreamed performances where audience members are afforded unique opportunities to experience all things jazz!”
