Art, music and wine. What else do you need?
At the Phillips Collection, they’ve given a whole new meaning to the phrase “museum after hours.” Every first Thursday of the month the museum holds “Phillips after 5” and it’s basically a happy hour full of art, music and dance.

For years now, the Phillips Collection has been holding monthly happy hours jam-packed with live music, entertainment and art talks. Known as “Phillips After 5,” these events are nothing like your typical happy-hour-at-the-bar kind of thing and usually revolve around the museum’s artworks and exhibits. Yes, food and booze are still on the menu, but I’m talking about cooler, sometimes even themed, activities. In the past, attendees have been able to take chair yoga classes surrounded by Kandinskys and De Koonings, participated in tea and rum tastings, and even had a photobooth full of Renoir-inspired accouterments to take selfies with.

Upcoming after-hour events at the Phillips Collection include: Lawrence to Lovell on Feb 6, an evening full of experimental jazz, hip-hop, soul and chilli bowls; and Wonder Women on Mar 5, a celebration of the International Women’s Day at the Phillips Collection. These events are ticketed and tend to sell out really fast, so we recommend getting your ticket online to avoid last-minute mishaps!
