Skydome, the only rotating rooftop restaurant in the DMV, has officially reopened!
The Arlington restaurant, perched atop the DoubleTree by Hilton Crystal City Hotel, was closed for three years amid a combination of closures stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and undergoing renovations. Now, Skydome has returned with a new style, new Executive Chef Klaus Happel, a new dinner menu, and the same stunning views.
Skydome offers patrons an unbeatable view of Washington, D.C., including the Washington Monument, as it rotates 360 degrees roughly nine times each day.
The revamped menu under Chef Happel offers “American fare through a Mediterranean lens,” according to a press release, including mouthwatering dishes such as Grilled Octopus with potato chorizo corn hash and aji amarillo aioli, as well as the Sautéed Gnocchi alla Vodka with jumbo shrimp and asparagus.
But even if you’re only there for a drink or two, you’re in luck! Beverage Director Haley Stone has Skydome crafting unique cocktails like the Nectar of the Gods: delectable blend of Absolut pear vodka, pear nectar, fresh lemon, agave, and sprinkled with 24k gold flakes.
