Come one, come all, says Mo Willem, and doodle the lockdown away with him!
Mo Willems, Kennedy Center’s current artist-in-residence, is inviting all those interested in improving their drawing skills into his Massachusetts studio to doodle and write with him. The kid’s author will be releasing a new episode of his LUNCH DOODLES series every weekday at 1 pm ET which will be available via the Kennedy Center’s website and YouTube channel.
The first two episodes is already available online for you to replay and stream whenever you’d like. The episodes give a glimpse into the author’s studio and creative process and come with an activity sheet that is also available online on the Kennedy Center website. You can view them here. Mo Willems is also encouraging young artists to send him their questions to LUNCHDOODLES@kennedy-center.org so that he may answer them.
LUNCH DOODLES’ episodes may be geared more towards a younger audience but if you’re an aspiring artist with a penchant for doodling, Willem’s videos seem like a great way to turn the endless lockdown hours into fun doodling hours. Who knows? You may become the next doodle master!
If performing arts are more to your liking than drawing, the Kennedy Center is also live streaming past performances from its Millenium Stage Archives via its Facebook page!
