DC born and raised Dave Chappelle is kicking off the reopening this Friday!
As life starts to feel like it used to, the reopening of one of DC’s most iconic music venues is a confirmation that life as we knew it is starting back up again! To celebrate its reopening, comedian Dave Chappelle was invited to reintroduce the venue to Washingtonians. No specifics were given about his show except for attendees will be forbidden to use cellphones, cameras, or recording devices. They will have to put all phones and smartwatches in pouches that they keep with them but won’t be able to unlock until the end of the show.
The Anthem has already announced shows for 2022 as COVID restrictions were announced to be loosening. However, the CDC recently announced that they recommend people to wear face masks indoors even if fully vaccinated, particularly in areas where the virus is surging. Perhaps these recent announcements might cause the rescheduling of these shows, so attendees will have to keep an eye out.
