Nightclubs and bars will open at full capacity on June 11th!
DC mayor Murriel Bowser announced that restaurants will be able to reopen at full capacity as of May 21st. Nightclubs and bars can only operate at 50 percent capacity for now. However, they plan to fully reopen as of June 11th. This is due to the increase in vaccinated people and the CDC announcing that
fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
Furthermore, according to the Situation Update from May 10th, some COVID restrictions are going to be lifted as of May 21st, including “restrictions on public and commercial activity, including capacity limits, types of activities, and time restrictions, will be lifted.” This is because a large part of the population is getting vaccinated, allowing Americans to return to life as we knew it before the pandemic.
Indeed, after over a year of a lifestyle change and striving to keep each other safe, by wearing face masks, constantly washing our hands and hand sanitizing, and social distancing, little by little, these actions will become part of the past.
