Saturday, June 19, experience pop-art, street-art, and photography like you have never seen before! Bad Candy is the new art gallery in town, opening in University Heights on June 19 to showcase local artist’s work in a modern and creative way. Displaying groovy art and a first-ever line of apparel, this event brings art, fashion, and community together in a unique gallery experience.
This event will be the first of many! From the Grand Opening on June 19, bi-monthly art shows revealing local artists’ work, live music, as well as collaborative retail pop-ups for startups and artists, will be on display at the Bad Candy gallery. Bad Candy will also be hosting monthly “Sweet Saturday” events where prints, paintings, and apparel can be purchased at affordable prices.
Co-founders Bruce Allen and Henry Dotson, two artists and best bros are accomplishing their dream with this Grand Opening. Their art styles deviate but that never stopped them from working together. Bruce Allen is from the DMV area and is a Fine Art Photographer who has a romantic touch with every photo he takes. Henry Dotson uses pop-up techniques in this digital art to create comedic cartoon-like pieces.
Both their imaginative art styles and exceptional minds, came together to endeavor this visionary gallery. Buy your tickets to support their local business and dreams by visiting them at 3508 12th Street Northeast Washington, DC 20017.
